Adoption

Beacon of Hope Agency is able to offer more individualized attention to our foster parents. We also offer home-based training for parents who work and are not able to come to the office due to conflicts with work schedules.

Administrators at Beacon of Hope have over 40 years of combined experience working with children and families.

Look into the eyes of a miracle so much grander than yourself. When you take in a foster child, you’re opening more than your home, you’re opening your heart. Along with a safe place to lay their heads at night and a wholesome meal every morning, you provide open arms to shelter and love a child in need. If you have something to share, something missing in your life, or just an overwhelming amount of love and stability that will save a child’s life, you must consider for yourself becoming a foster or adoptive parent.

The amount of children in foster care is staggering, and range from the very young to desperate teenagers needing love and guidance. Most foster children are eventually able to return to their birth parents, and you have made a friend for life, and the deep satisfaction of knowing that you have made all the difference in a child’s life when they desperately needed it the most.

How It Works

Your child welfare professional will work with you and be there every step of the way on the most rewarding journey you will ever take.

We will schedule an orientation to answer your questions, and give you an application. We get to know you and you get to know us!

A social worker will usually visit your home to ensure you are prepared to handle and care for children. Usually while the home study is going on, there is ample opportunity for learning the system, the best way to deal with birth parents and other issues that may come up.

You will also learn how you will be compensated and what your responsibilities are as a devoted foster parent.

Be a Parent

Becoming the parents of a child who’s lived without them makes you more than parents.

You become heroes, beacons of light.

Although, you may find that your foster or adopted child lights up your world just as you do theirs.
